Spirit of Adventure Community Presentation
S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. has been a company steeped in family
tradition with a sense of adventure for 5 generations.
Their new Fortaleza Hall building stands next to the
world famous Frank Lloyd Wright designed company
international headquarters. Spherical in shape and
made primarily of glass, Fortaleza Hall houses a full-size
twin-engine S-38 amphibious plane suspended to simulate it
in flight which can be viewed by all passers-by. "This
building is intended to inspire us, to be a special place to
remind us of our sense of adventure," said chairman and
chief executive officer Fisk Johnson, the fifth-generation
leader of the company.
Lori Schneider echoes that spirit
of family & adventure as she tells tales of climbing with
her father Neal, culminating with her ascent of Mt. Everest
in May of 2009. Lori will present in the Golden
Rondelle Theater, originally built as the SC Johnson
Pavilion at the New York World’s Fair in 1964.
After the fair closed, the Golden Rondelle was dismantled
and its steel framework was shipped back to Racine, where it
was re-designed by Frank Lloyd Wright’s School of
Architecture. Join Lori on the amazing SC Johnson
Campus and renew YOUR sense of adventure!
